Zumba classes will be running every Tuesday and Friday lunchtime through to spring at a specially created studio on Level Three. The 20 minute lessons kick off at 12.45 pm and 13.15 pm and can take up to 30 people.

As a fabulous way to shape up, Zumba is the fun way to dance yourself to a new you. Based on a Latin-inspired dance fitness program, sessions involve dance and aerobic moves with hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts and some Bollywood and belly dance moves.

This Friday, Birmingham welcomes a whole host of fabulously dressed fashionistas as they head to the UK's biggest fashion and beauty event.

The Clothes Show Live at The NEC features more than 500 shopping brands, celebrity presenters, live performances, fast-paced catwalk shows and inspirational demos from December 2-7.

Renowned as the ultimate girls' day out, this year's event is in association with Suzuki and features the world's largest catwalk show, with 40 models and dancers taking to the runway in a staggering 350 outfits.

Visitors can also indulge their passion for fashion with the giant shopping area offering an eclectic mix of styles and influences from the high street, independent boutiques, vintage collections and designer labels.

And of course, there'll be plenty of industry experts on hand throughout the event to offer advice and top tips on beauty, hair and the latest trends.

CHRISTMAS BEAUTY: TOP TO TOE PARTY GIRL!

The festive season is nearly upon us and there’s no better time to pile on the glam. From the perfect pout and smoky eyes to a beautiful manicure, you can easily knock ‘em dead at the office party with one simple rule … when it comes to your make-up, more really is more.

For gorgeous lips, red remains a Christmas favourite as it adds a splash of glamour in an instant. Do bear in mind what colours suit you best and make sure you test it against the skin on your face. If you have dark skin opt for a deeper shade, while those with medium tones should look for reds with a golden sheen to bring warmth to your overall look. If you’re on the pale and interesting side, pinky reds are the most flattering – they pick out your natural colour and won’t leave you looking washed out. If a solid block of sheen isn’t for you, then go for a tinted gloss or balm that will add a more subtle tint and also act as a moisture surge.

For fans of colour, the season sees an injection of the bold and the beautiful, with bright jewel-toned eye shades teamed with inky liners for high impact. Don’t be afraid to play around with dark colours – think 1920s starlet with heavy lashes and dark lids. For a modern twist, try a dash of jade or a high pearl shimmer for real impact.

One rule of thumb, though. Heavily made-up eyes look great with nude lips, and vice versa. You don’t want to end up looking like a pantomime dame on a bad day.

Finish off with a spritz of perfume and varnish on your nails – on trend golds, purples and blood reds are a great choice. And don’t forget to paint your toes nails too and set off those Jimmy Choo sandals to perfection.

THE CUPPA GETS A VERY MODERN MAKE-OVER!

CHRISTMAS WINDOWS: STYLE FROZEN IN TIME

Where the icicles never melt and the snow never loses its crunch ... we're continuing one of retail’s longest running traditions as we recaptures the magic of Christmas with our striking festive window displays.

The stylish seasonal scenes have been unveiled at our luxury Mailbox store after many months of planning by our talented display team. This year’s theme captures the idea of an ice workshop where handcrafted props have been frozen in production.

One features a majestic, life-size white horse while in others mannequins dressed in the latest designer labels feature alongside giant blocks of ice. Each display has ‘discarded’ work tools, scaffolding and step ladders to create an eerie winter wonderland. Snow drifts, snowflakes and glittering icicles complete the scenes.

“The idea started following a trip to our workshop after the team there had been sculpting with polystyrene,” explains Head of Visual Display for Harvey Nichols, Janet Wardley. “It looked as if it had been magically snowing inside with the workshop frozen in time. The overall effect was a contemporary setting and it felt like a very novel approach to portraying Christmas.”

The very first Christmas windows date back to the 1870s when Macy’s New York revealed its “holiday” displays. Harvey Nichols continues this tradition for creating stylish and eye-catching windows and last year we were announced winner of Retail Birmingham’s Sparkling Windows competition.

NEWS: A VERY EXCLUSIVE CHARITY FUNDRAISER

We've teamed up with Aston Villa FC and graffiti artist Temper to raise thousands of pounds for charity with an exclusive selection of Beaujolais Nouveau.

This week, a team from the Premier League club will complete the 1,350-mile round trip to the French region of Beaujeu, bringing the famous wine back to Villa Park for a celebratory dinner.

From the crop, just 12 bottles will then be specially selected to feature a bespoke label designed by Temper, along with his signature, making them a must-have collector’s item.

These exclusive bottles will be on sale in store, with a minimum reserve price of £1,000 per item. Temper has also very generously agreed to donate his original signed artwork to help raise funds – and this alone could fetch in excess of £10,000. All money raised will go to AVFC’s official charity Acorns.

Well, we certainly threw a tenth birthday party to remember. Turning The Mailbox into the most fashionable big top, we celebrated a decade in the city with a circus-themed evening.

Boasting one of the most impressive guests lists ever seen in Birmingham, stars from the small screen, music and sport dressed uber glam to mark our milestone anniversary.

VIPs included Alexander Burke, Danielle Lloyd, Nikki Sanderson, Layla Monoochehri, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace and The Only Way Is Essex stars Joey Essex, Cara Kilbey and Billi Mucklow.

Footballers Lee Hendrie, Darren Byfield, Matt Murray, Ishmael Miller, Zat Knight, Nigel Reo-Coker, Charles Nzogbia and Matt Jarvis enjoyed the party alongside Aston Villa Manager Alex McLeish and Terry Connor from Wolves.

They were joined by more than 500 guests from media, fashion and business from around the city to be entertained by stilt walkers, fire dancers, contortionists, a caricaturist, mime artist, escapologist, magician and tarot card reader, as well as Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists Peridot Dance Troupe.

Tricks and treats included a designer fashion show, wall of mirrors, circus-themed dress-up box and music courtesy of DJ Collin Francis. Guests were served Perrier Jouet Champagne to complement mini hot dogs, cheese burgers and fish and chips, followed by toffee apples, ice creams, candy floss and popcorn.

Yep, it was definitely a night we won't be forgetting in a hurry!

We love how fashion is such a magpie; the way that every season our favourite designers flick through the archives to give their modern take on classic looks from the past.

Balenciaga’s latest fragrance L’Essence is being launched exclusively in Harvey Nichols this week. Following hot on the heels of last year’s best-selling Balenciaga Paris, L’Essence is the newest scent to be unveiled by the world renowned fashion house.

With a nod towards its predecessor, L’Essence is modern and edgy, boasting sophisticated violet notes teamed with woody mosses. The face of the new scent is Charlotte Gainsbourg, who has a recognised fashion pedigree as the daughter of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. She describes L’Essence as “an honest, strong fragrance. It is determined and assertive.”
