DRINK NEWS: LET'S MAKE A TOAST TO LONDON!

Whether you're raising a glass to the Queen or looking for the perfect Olympic cocktail, ABSOLUT London is this summer's must-havce tipple.

With a limited edition bottle designed by Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz fame, the latest vodka arrival marks quite a year for the Capital. The striking red, white and blue bottle represents Jamie’s take on London’s style and fashion pioneers over the past 200 years, featuring key people who have influenced the city. The seven characters encapsulate a diverse heritage, spanning from Dickensian times and 18th Century Dandy through to punk.

“It was an honour to be approached by ABSOLUT to collaborate on this project,” explains leading graphic designer Jamie. “London has always been and continues to be a cultural hub which inspires creativity so it deserves to be celebrated.”

50ml ABSOLUT London
4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
A small teaspoon Marmite
A small teaspoon English mustard
A small teaspoon HP Sauce
The juice of half a lemon
2 dashes Tabasco or to taste
200ml tomato juice
Pinch of salt & pepper
Lemon wedge & long slice cucumber to garnish

METHOD: Pour the ABSOLUT London, Worcestershire Sauce, English mustard, Marmite and HP Sauce into a long glass. Use a bar or long spoon and stir with vigour until the ingredients are well combined.

Squeeze in the juice of half a fresh lemon and Tabasco to taste depending on how spicy you’re feeling. Fill your glass with tomato juice, add a pinch of salt and pepper and give it another good stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a long slice of cucumber.
